Pre-conception

Chiropractic care prior to conception promotes a more regular menstrual cycle and optimal uterine function. It prepares the body to be strong, supple and as balanced as possible to carry the pregnancy. I have seen several couples who thought they were infertile that have been helped by restoring proper nerve supply to the reproductive organs, and were actually able to conceive.

Pregnancy

If you spend much time in our office you will see that we see a lot of pregnant women. The stress of pregnancy will magnify underlying spinal subluxation patterns as well as create new subluxations.

Regular and consistent chiropractic care during pregnancy helps maintain balance, alignment, and flexibility. Many of our pregnant moms report, less morning sickness, less pelvic and hip pain, less heartburn, and overall tolerating and managing the pregnancy better than without chiropractic care. When the baby is comfortable, he or she can assume the optimal birthing position. However, in some cases due to pelvic and spinal subluxations (misalignments) the baby may assume a breach position. If that has happened, all of our chiropractors are trained to use a specific protocol called the Webster technique to assess the pregnant mom and adjust accordingly as necessary. Dr. Walker has been using the Webster technique for over 16 years with great success to help get mom right, so baby can get in the right position. Dr. Greenwell is certified in the Webster technique and has been using it since he graduated from Chiropractic school. The Webster technique is not a baby turning technique and we are not adjusting or turning the baby. This technique utilized by trained prenatal chiropractors has helped countless women avoid unnecessary interventions during birth by simply getting mom‘s pelvis and body in the best position to be able to function optimally and allow for a natural and healthy delivery.
